One very sad fact about getting older seems to be that memories fade out of existence. I try to trigger the return of some of those memories through music. I take my audience back to those summer evenings on the porch, or on a blanket on the grass, and join in singing songs like "Take Me Out To the Ball Game" and "You Are My Sunshine", in the hope of bringing back the sights, sounds, and smells of their youth. I play familiar and seasonal tunes as a form of group reminiscence therapy and I encourage everyone to sing along.
My musical repertoire for seniors consists of Oldies, Traditional, Cowboy/Country, Popular, Classic Rock, and Bluegrass. I perform for Independent/Assisted Living communities and Nursing/Rehabilitation facilities on a regular basis. Some of my Senior performances have included:
